Our meeting on Wednesday went well when we had Anette and Zoe from the Bangkok Women Writers Group to present their group’s book “Bangkok Blondes”. For a book published in Thailand in English, it has been a best seller. Some of the Bookclub found this slightly surprising as the material in the stories that had been choosen for inclusion was “nice and safe”, though others thought that in presenting every day experiences it made them feel reassured and they welcomed a book that didn’t concentrate on the more seedy side of Bangkok life. Members thought that by using their own experiences their writings were honest and transparent.
